Intensive courses
Intensive Driving Courses in Tolworth: Are They Right for You?
An intensive course squeezes weeks of lessons into days. For the right learner it is the quickest route to a full licence. For the wrong one it is an expensive way to find out they needed more time. Here is how to tell which you are.

What an intensive course is
Instead of one or two hours a week, you drive for several hours a day over a short period, working towards your practical test. It is the same syllabus and the same DVSA test, just on a compressed timetable. Because there is no week-long gap between lessons, there is far less time to forget what you learned.
What our courses cost
- 10 hours: £550
- 20 hours: £1,070
- 30 hours: £1,500
The price is the same for automatic or manual. You can add test cover for £150, so you sit your test in our dual-controlled car with a warm-up drive beforehand. Full details are on our dedicated site, tolworthintensivedrivingcourses.co.uk.
Who intensive courses suit
- Learners who have already had some lessons and need to get over the line.
- Anyone who has failed a test and wants focused preparation for the next one.
- People with a deadline, such as a new job or a move.
- Drivers returning after a long break, or converting from an overseas licence.
Who should think twice
Complete beginners hoping 10 hours will be enough are usually disappointed. Very nervous drivers often do better with a steadier pace. And if you cannot commit to several consecutive days, weekly lessons or a block booking will give you better value.
Worth knowing
You must pass your theory test before you can book your practical test. Get your theory done before you commit to an intensive course.
The test date
Since the 2026 booking rules, only you can book your test, and you get two changes after booking. We plan the course around the date you have booked, but we cannot book it for you. Read the 2026 driving test booking rules first.
How we decide the hours
We start with an assessment drive and recommend the number of hours we honestly think you need. We would rather recommend fewer hours than sell you a package you do not need.
